Bird’s Hill Hideaway has a fully equipped kitchen with oven, stovetop, microwave and all the pots, pans and utensils you need to prepare gourmet meals during your holiday. But we recognize that sometimes it it fun to let someone else take care of dinner. So we thought we would list some possibilities. The main destinations for food + drink in Buckhorn are listed below. Bobcaygeon, about a 30 minute drive west on Route 36, also has some decent choices in restaurants.

If you are wondering about groceries Foodland is on the way into Buckhorn on the east side of Buckhorn Road (Route 23). The L.C.B.O. (Wine + Liquor) and the Beer Store are both right beside the Buckhorn Welcome Centre on the east side of Lakehurst Road (Route 37).

Delicious country casual dining, great food, friendly service with a spectacular view! Treetops Dining Room is at the water's edge with breathtaking panoramic lake view through tall pines from windows on three sides. Every Table has a great view!

It doesn't look like much from outside, but his is where the locals go! Homestyle cooking, with a pub attached. They have pickerel on the menu.

The Island Grill is a licensed, casual dining restaurant at the Burleigh Island Lodge with an outdoor patio that overlooks beautiful Stoney Lake. Kawartha Country Wines is a small premium family-owned winery located north of Peterborough, just 5 minutes outside of Buckhorn and 15 minutes from Bobcaygeon on County Road #36. In 2006 the building underwent extensive renovations to transform it into a venue for the Arts and welcomed Globus Theatre as the company-in-residence. Globus offers a diverse and thoroughly entertaining professional summer season and an eclectic mix of dramas, murder mysteries and comedy nights at other times throughout the year.

Theatre patrons can choose to dine prior to any of the evening performances in the dining room adjacent to the theatre. A 3-course table d’hôte menu is available at 6pm prior to every evening performance.
