Buckhorn Community Centre: August 15 - 17, 2014

Buckhorn has always been known for its art. Even back in 1830, when John Hall, the area’s first settler, constructed a dam and sawmill, and proudly mounted deer antlers on the outside walls of his mills. This public display of horns eventually gave rise to the town’s present name. The art theme continues today with the annual Buckhorn Fine Arts Festival held annually in mid August. This event has been recognized as one Canada’s premiere art shows for over 30 years.

Recognized as one of the premiere Canadian Art Festivals, the Buckhorn Fine Art Festival promotes North American artists who collectively present thousands of choices of fine art in a vibrant array of style, medium, and message.

The Kawartha Arts Festival was first held in 1989 and started off as a small collection of artists gathering together to give something back to the local arts community. It has since grown into one of the largest art festivals in Southern Ontario and attracts thousands of visitors each year.

The Kawartha Art Festival is a non-profit organization run by dedicated volunteers. It is kept going by the generous donations given each year by the show’s patrons, and we would like to thank each and every one of you to keep the Art Festival growing more unique each year.

August 30 & August 31, 2014. Free admission.
